Leaflet to both promote and function as the programme for the premiere of ‘Mystics’, a musical production by Musica Aperta performed at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, in October 2008. On the ‘poster’ side of the piece, the title adopted a fragmented form, enhancing the idea of that which is revealed, rather than presented straightforwardly. Apart from using colours that refer to the obscure, the solemn and religious, the idea was to use a typeface, the forms of which, when abstracted, would allude to musical symbols.
